OUR COACHES AND FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

Our Netball Scholars have the opportunity to access exceptional coaching from a highly skilled coaching team. We are privileged to have experienced and knowledgeable Netball coaches who will guarantee student progression.

Mrs S Cunningham
Scholarship Coach
Mrs Cunningham has worked at Wath Academy for 25 years and during this time has been an integral part of the school netball teams from Y7-13, often managing and coaching Sixth Form teams. Mrs Cunningham began her playing and coaching career in Cardiff in the Premier League playing against players from all across the world. She was team manager and coach for South Glamorgan for a number of years and so has a wealth of experience at coaching at grassroots and higher levels. Many of the teams that she has coached have been successful in reaching the Rotherham Schools Netball Association Finals, often winning the tournament. Mrs Cunningham looks forward to coaching the netball scholars.

Miss E Greenfield
Scholarship Coach
Miss Greenfield has worked at Wath Academy for 12 years as a PE teacher. She has coached a range of netball teams across a variety of year groups, manyreaching the Rotherham School Netball Association finals. Throughout the years, Miss Greenfield has also been part of organising and running a variety of netball tournaments as part of the qualifying rounds for the Rotherham Netball Finals. Miss Greenfield has achieved her level 1 Netball for Teachers Qualification and has played for the University of Chester in a variety of BUCS competitions as well as playing in the Exeter Netball League. Throughout the 2024/25 scholarship programme season, MissGreenfield successfully guided the team along with the support of Miss Houghton to win the Rotherham
Schools Netball Association Finals and achieve an impressive third place in the AOC Sport Netball Yorkshire West League. The team’s outstanding performance in our very first year of running the scholarship programme highlights the strength and
