Behaviour Strategy

There is a clear consequence system in place and all students are treated equally, in accordance with the equalities act, ensuring all students are treated fairly.

All statutory requirements are met with regards to provision for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / Looked After Children students.

Planning Assessment and Identification

A Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Handbook is created for all staff to read so that all needs are met and planned with in lessons. This is also available electronically and is regularly updated.

Staff Training for Children with SEND

A number of training sessions have taken place regarding Special Educational Needs and Disabilities with further training sessions planned for Teaching Assistants with Learning Support Service. Teaching staff will receive additional training in September.

Service Involvement in Transition Provision (Transition from Primary to Secondary)

Integration for vulnerable students for a 6 week period on a rolling programme

  • 3 day transition in July

Service Involvement in Transition Provision (Transition from Secondary to Further and Higher Education)

We have enhanced transition to 6th Form for identified students and structured meetings between SENCO and Special Needs Co-ordinators at College at transition. We offer:

  • Enhanced transition support for identified students
  • Family support

​Post-16 Provision

Students choose between two routes: A Level or Vocational route. GCSE English and Maths are offered to those students who did not gain the qualification at Key Stage 4.
