    About Us

    A Message From Our Principal

Wath Academy is an extremely popular 11-18 school with almost 1800 students on roll, including around 300 in the Sixth Form.

Despite being a large school, we pride ourselves on being a caring and welcoming community with clearly defined aims and values. It is our mission that all our students leave us ‘Able, Active and Qualified’ as a result of high quality learning and an extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities. Through our unique educational offer we strive for students to achieve their potential in a supportive and inspirational learning environment.

Wath Academy enjoys a long and successful reputation, of over 95 years standing, for its academic standards and traditional values. We work hard to create a caring and disciplined environment full of energy, talent and enthusiasm. These qualities are reflected in our academic record and by the high proportion of our students who enter the sixth form and go on to university.

As a school we want everyone to feel they have a part to play; that they are listened to and respected. We place great importance on the development of the individual through the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum and a rich and varied programme of enrichment activities. This is an exciting time for a school which is popular and regularly oversubscribed. Wath Academy became a member of the Maltby Learning Trust in April 2019.

Our modern environment provides the opportunity for the highest standards of teaching and learning, and where students can be prepared for life in the 21st Century. We have continued to adapt and enhance our provision in response to changing curriculum demands.

The school is committed to continuous improvement and to achieving excellence in all that we do. As a learning community, we celebrate achievement, value individuals and respect diversity. We take seriously our responsibility to the local community in which we are located as well as to the global community to which we all belong.

    Yours sincerely

    J Taylor
